We are only able to book shows on THE LAST FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH. That is the day the church has set aside for us. It is not possible to change this, so please do not contact us asking for another date.
1. Do you have to be a "Christian Band"?
NO. However, The LLC is based out of Lansdowne Alliance Church and our pastor has specifically asked me to request lyrics from any new bands, or non Christian bands that may want to book a show. Providing lyrics does not automatically mean you "pass inspection". The lyrics are reviewed by me and our Senior Pastor, leaving me to deliver the good/bad news.
[This seems obvious to me; however, some still ask for clarification]
It is unacceptable for your music to contain: Any direct mention or implication of curse words, violence, sex, illegal activity, witchcraft or otherwise evil creepy things that scare people.
2. Will we be paid lavish amounts of money for playing?
No. It is unfortunate, but we are not able to pay bands very much, if at all. The LLC does not charge admission to come into the House of God meaning we make no profit and run on donations.
If you're a band coming from a far distance we can usually compensate gas money. This is something that can be discussed because our income varies month to month. Bands are always welcome to set out their own donation box and sell merch.
I personally wish we were able to pay bands and feel badly about not doing so; therefore I always provide the bands with a nice dinner at the end of the night.
3. Do we need recordings?
Yes, and No. I would prefer if your band had music recorded for me to listen to prior to my agreeing with booking your band. Or, if you're local to the Baltimore area, I might be able to attend a show. Just let me know; I am willing to work with you. I feel better knowing what the band is going to sound like before I agree.
Thank you!
So those are the 3 issues I would mention if you were to request booking a show at The LLC. If you are reading through these guidelines and our venue no longer appeals to you then I am sorry to hear that. Perhaps send me a message anyway and I will personally check out your band and attend a show elsewhere to support you.
