We at Lansdowne are thrilled that you are planning a visit with us. We want to let you know what you can expect so that your first visit with us can be a great one.
When you arrive...
It is usually a good idea when you are going anywhere for the first time to arrive a little early. Give yourself time to feel comfortable. If you are planning on coming to our Sunday school program, it is a good idea to be at the church around 9:15am, so that someone can help you find the right class. If you are planning to attend our Sunday morning worship service, it is a good idea to be at the church at around 10:30am.
When you pull into the parking lot find a spot where ever you would like. There are normally places close to the door available. Around the back of the church there is an entrance with a ramp and plenty of room to accommodate a wheelchair.
The side entrance of the church is the entrance into the fellowship hall, and if you are coming in around 9:30-10:30 you will be walking into a Sunday school class in session. So, we encourage you to use either the front door of the church or the back door.
We encourage people to use the Sancuary for prayer and personal reflection before the main service begins. It will be quiet, and peaceful, with some light music playing at times.
What the service is like...
Our service is generally considered to be contemporary. Our music does feature guitars, drums, a keyboard, and multiple singers. You will find that there is a blend on most days between traditional hymns (sang to an upbeat tune) and newer worship songs like those performed by Hillsong and Chris Tomlin.
WE DO NOT ASSIGN SEATS... when you come in to the sanctuary you may sit wherever you please. If you are more comfortable sitting near the back and just watching what is going on for your first day, then go ahead. If you are ready to sit up front and really get into worship, then feel free. We believe that God has created us in many different shapes and sizes, and we also believe that the Lord enjoys the many ways in which his people worship.
Even with all of this being said we know that going to a church for the first time can be a little unnerving. That's why we would like you to know that we have a guide service that is available to you for your first time.
